Scott Starr is a four-time Emmy® Award-winning television writer and producer with more than two decades of experience in broadcast and digital media.

Originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, Scott earned his B.S. in Speech Communication with a focus on Broadcasting from Millersville University. He got his start in Lancaster, PA, at a production company creating instructional videos—beginning as a freelance production assistant and working his way up to staff producer on one of its biggest accounts.

He went on to earn an M.S. in TV-Radio-Film from Syracuse University’s renowned Newhouse School while serving as a graduate teaching assistant. In 1994, Scott headed to New York City to join Court TV’s documentary series The System. Over six years, he grew from production assistant to producing show opens and teases for live programs, eventually moving into on-air promotions.
From there, Scott spent nearly a decade creating promotional content for major brands and networks, including The Montel Williams Show, Lifetime Television, Time Warner Cable, New Line Cinema, The Travel Channel, Style Network, and Sony Pictures Television’s daytime court shows.

In 2009, Scott joined The Dr. Oz Show as tease producer, crafting in-show promos that kept viewers engaged for five seasons—and earning multiple Emmy® Awards along the way. He later produced campaigns for NBCUniversal’s Meredith Vieira Show and Harry, Harry Connick Jr.’s daytime talk show.

In 2016, Scott worked with MSNBC Creative Services, producing image spots for Morning Joe and the network’s “This Is Who We Are” campaign. Starting in 2017, Scott played a key role in launching DailyMailTV, where he spent five seasons producing promos, opens, and teases for the Emmy®-winning syndicated entertainment news program.

In 2022, Scott joined CBS News Marketing as a special projects producer, creating campaigns for CBS Mornings, CBS Evening News, Face the Nation, and CBS Sunday Morning. Today, he leads the image campaign for CBS Mornings, featuring co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson.

When he’s not producing, Scott loves experimenting with the latest photo-editing apps. He lives in Harlem, just two blocks from Central Park, and enjoys biking or walking his retired racing greyhound, Harley, while soaking up everything New York City has to offer.
